How amazing are our Toucans!
On Thursday the 19th we filled up the bus and headed off to Kianinny for a fun filled 2 days. Mr E did an amazing job organising everything and lucky Mrs Parker got to come along for the ride. We had an amazing 2 days worth of activities including canoeing, a scavenger hunt, team rescue and the death defying flying fox. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and boy did we take some pictures! Enjoy flicking through some beautiful, happy faces having an awesome time. Yesterday Bob from St John Ambulance visited 3P and 3/4E to teach us what we should do if we were ever to be first on the scene of an emergency. We learnt a lot and although we hope we never have to use it we are confident that we could help someone in need if we had too.
3P and 3/4E competed against each other to make the best tower to hold up a basketball, the challenge was that we could only use newspaper and masking tape. It was hard and we weren't even given an example to use but we did it! Mrs Lowe came to see the grandfinal and helped judge which pair had one. At the end of the challenge Jay and Bryce were awarded the trophy!
On September the 9th 3P went outside for some painting. We needed to paint a landscape picture that was only limited by our imagination. We displayed some wonderful creativity and enjoyed being outside in the fresh air. Our paintings are now hanging proudly on our windows facing 3/4E if you would like to come by and check them out.
It was such a glorious day we were able to get outside for some Maths games. Everyone was very relaxed and worked well as small groups and pairs.
Term 3 is off to a flying start, in 3P we have started looking at First contacts which is our History topic for the term.
We loved having our family and friends come into our classroom for education week. It was nice to show off what we are achieving. Here are a few pictures of us working hard on our History unit while our visitors were in our room. |
